Michaela Hunt Hess brings over three years of experience in the solar energy industry, with a focus on distributed generation and microgrids. At Third Pillar Solar, she helps deliver water-based solar energy solutions around the Mid-Atlantic.
Previously, Michaela managed a large portfolio of projects at New Columbia Solar, where she specialized in implementing creative solar strategies for space-constrained communities across Washington, DC and Maryland. She is passionate about working with communities to tailor renewable energy solutions to their unique needs and constraints.
Michaela earned dual bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and Visual Arts from Bethany College, followed by a master’s degree in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. Outside of work, she enjoys running, skiing, and exploring new places.
