Joseph brings nine years of experience in renewable energy market fundamentals and innovative technology siting strategy. At Third Pillar Solar, he leads utility scale project origination across the USA.
Previously, as a strategist, developer, and business originator, Joseph greenfielded new utility-scale wind, solar, storage, and transmission projects. His experience includes the development and strategy behind a 1GW portfolio of utility scale solar projects, including the largest utility scale solar array on a mountain top removal coal mine in Appalachia as the Director of Development at BrightNight. Additionally, he led greenfield wind farm origination at Steelhead Americas, the development arm of Vestas, starting over 5GW of new projects, predominately in new USA markets.
Joseph earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville in Kentucky focused on water resources and structural design, followed by a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Munich in Germany focused on Renewable Energy Technologies. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring new wine regions and the stories behind them, breaking 80 in a golf round, and driving his old pick-up truck.
